DuckDuckGo will reduce the rating of sites that publish Russian fakes
The DuckDuckGo search engine is known for not adapting search results to users and providing information impartially. However, due to the war in Ukraine, the company will underestimate the rating of sites that are associated with Russian fakes. This was stated by Gabriel Weinberg, founder of DuckDuckGo.
"Like many others, I am sick of Russia's invasion of Ukraine and the huge humanitarian crisis it continues to create. We are launching search updates in DuckDuckGo that reduce the rating of sites related to Russian disinformation," the head of the company said on Twitter.
Like so many others I am sickened by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the gigantic humanitarian crisis it continues to create. #StandWithUkraine️ At DuckDuckGo, we've been rolling out search updates that down-rank sites associated with Russian disinformation.

New information and news blocks will also appear in the search engine at the top of the window (where they are most visible). This will highlight high-quality information about current events.
