ASUS plans to withdraw from the Russian market

Taiwanese company ASUS plans to withdraw its employees and businesses from Russia. This is reported by Reuters, quoting Taiwan's Economy Minister Wang Mei-Hua. The company itself has not yet published any statements.

On March 10, Mikhail Fedorov appealed to ASUS to withdraw from the Russian market.

"The fifteenth day of the invasion: Russian tanks and missiles continue to kill peaceful Ukrainians! @ASUS, Russians have no moral right to use your brilliant technology! They are for peace, not for war!",- the head of the Ministry of Digital Development wrote on Twitter.

Taiwanese media began spreading this appeal on the evening of March 12, after which many calls for ASUS to stop working in Russia appeared on social networks.

The company's cooperation with the Russian Federation casts a shadow on Taiwan's decision to support Ukraine and adhere to the course of Western countries. Many residents of Taiwan sympathize with the Ukrainians, because they see a similar threat from China. In addition, large Taiwanese companies do not consider Russia as an important sales market, Reuters notes.
