Starlink has risen in price for the first time. The company says-because of inflation

SpaceX has raised the cost of the Starlink internet for the first time since the service launched in October 2020.

The company sends letters to Starlink customers where it talks about the price increase and says that the reason for the price increase was inflation. For new users, the hardware will cost $599 (not 4 499 as before). The service fee will be 1 110 per month (not 9 99). This rule will take effect on April 22, 2022.

Users can opt out of Starlink and get a refund for the equipment: the full cost if it is used for up to a month, or $200 if more.

Customers who have already made a deposit for the equipment but have not yet paid the full amount will now have to pay $549 for the starter kit, which is its average cost. The deposit can also be refunded.

Recall that recently Elon Musk provided Ukrainians with access to the Starlink internet. Some companies and organizations have already received terminals and were able to connect to the service. We have reached out to several such companies for comment, but have not yet received a response.
