Parimatch Tech stops cooperation with 15% of specialists. Position of the company and employee

In the product IT company Parimatch Tech, 15% of employees (that is, about 200 people), including technical specialists, stopped working. The company announced this to employees this week. As explained in Parimatch Tech, the reason is that the functions and work responsibilities of some specialists cannot be adapted to the current needs and tasks of the company in the war and post-war period. We talked to the employee with whom we stopped working about the situation and received an official comment from Parimatch Tech.

The situation through the eyes of a company employee

The fact that Parimatch Tech stops cooperation with some specialists, we learned from our own sources. We talked to several employees of the company, and all of them confirmed the information, and one of those with whom we stopped cooperation agreed to give an anonymous comment.

Quality Assurance engineer

Briefly about why this happened.

Parimatch is a leading betting company in countries such as Ukraine, Russia and Belarus (the largest revenue niche from Ukraine, because it is still a Ukrainian company). And the war unleashed by Russia against Ukraine could not bypass the company. At such a time, it is difficult to talk about an adequate income from betting from Ukraine, and in the other two countries it was necessary to leave the market.

I can say for sure that today Parimatch has nothing to do with Russia and their brand is not there. This is the first thing that led to the reduction of employees, and I think the most important thing is the decline in revenue and markets in the company due to the war. The second is that the company has stopped developing due to the situation in Ukraine. Now all efforts are focused on employee safety, volunteering and helping the country, and in the third place on maintaining the stable operation of applications (all items are placed in order of priority).

Therefore, many employees who are in conditional Security, roughly speaking, do not always have a full amount of work for the whole day, and there is no question of development, the main thing is to keep what is available.

About how the reduction occurs and who falls under it.

The reduction was announced to us this week, on Wednesday or Thursday. According to the information I have, 15% of employees of the entire company were cut. These are people whose departments are almost not functioning or whose work is not relevant in the current conditions, experimental teams that were aimed at developing the company, and other similar personnel. Among those I know personally, there are developers, testers, and HR. The company and management express their deep condolences that we have to take such steps, because even during the covid crisis, it did not come to this.

What they promise and say to employees who are cut:

Payments of a full-fledged salary for two months (March and April), including for non-working (April). In case of extension of martial law in the future, pay benefits if the person has not found a job.Full support in finding a new job. Recommendations in partner companies, support of questionnaires in LinkedIn, and so on.Working equipment like the MacBook can be kept for yourself or transferred to a company that will then send it to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine. You will be able to return to work at Parimatch again if there are vacancies. The lease is currently closed.

And, in fact, I will share my impressions and thoughts as a person who fell under the reduction. The company has been actively supporting our state and employees since the beginning of the war. The finances, the returns, the forces in cyberspace that were thrown at the safety of employees, cause only delight in a good way. Therefore, I have a fairly loyal attitude to the company's behavior in this situation and it is supported by how the reduction itself occurs. In my opinion, Parimatch is worthy and adequately at odds with employees both financially and morally. The main thing today is security and peace, which I wish the whole country.

Official comment from Parimatch Tech

We asked the company to highlight the situation and the reasons for the termination of cooperation with some employees. Then their comment.

In the conditions of martial law and the inability to predict the future volume of work tasks, we rebuild business processes and provide social guarantees for all our specialists, including those whose functions and work responsibilities cannot be adapted to the current needs and tasks of the company in the war and post-war period. The primary challenge is to move to a team structure and size that meets today's and projected business goals.

We preserve and support as much as possible all those who have been reduced until the end of martial law:

The company will pay compensation to all such specialists for two months (March and April). If martial law continues, from May, every specialist who is not involved in business tasks will receive monthly payments in the amount of 70% of the monthly salary (but not less than 10 000 UAH and not more than 30 000 UAH) until the official end of martial law.The changes do not apply to those who currently serve in the TRO and the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Their positions are retained in full, as are the company's obligations to them. Their salaries will be paid in full.

The company also re-profiles its recruiting resources and directs them to help those who are relevant in finding a job.

We have completed cooperation with about 15% of the total number of specialists. This is a different percentage for different teams, depending on the availability of tasks.

Earlier it was reported that the Parimatch brand is withdrawing the franchise from Russia due to the military aggression of the Russian Federation in Ukraine.
