Transcarpathia is creating a national IT cluster. IT specialists are exempt from military service

Transcarpathia is creating a national IT cluster. Moreover, to protect the Ukrainian economy, all IT specialists in this region are released from military service during martial law. This was announced by the head of the Transcarpathian regional military administration Viktor Nikita at a meeting with representatives of the IT sector who moved their business to the west of the country.

Local authorities want Transcarpathia to become a national hub for all Ukrainian businesses.

What is offered to IT entrepreneurs
"Businesses that will move and operate in Transcarpathia will be protected. In particular, we are creating a national IT cluster in the region and exempting all IT specialists from military service to protect the Ukrainian economy," Nikita said.

He said that ОВА will book IT specialists from conscription, provide locations for work, high-quality internet, and provide assistance and support for activities in the tax sphere.

"I invite all IT specialists of Ukraine to Transcarpathia. What we offer: we book IT specialists from conscription for military service during mobilization and martial law, provide locations for work, converted office space and coworking spaces, provide their protection, provide high — quality modern internet (fiber, satellite), help in supporting economic, tax and economic activities," said the head of the region.
What are the requirements for companies

At the same time, Nikita voiced several important aspects that IT companies and specialists need to know in order to relocate their business to the region.

First of all, the IT business must register with the Ministry of economy as an enterprise that wants to move its activities and capacities to the Transcarpathian region.

Moreover, it is mandatory to register a business entity in the territory of the region as a reintegrated enterprise from another region.

After that, the regional administration, together with the Ministry of economy, ensures the formation of proposals for booking IT specialists from conscription for military service during mobilization and martial law.

According to ОВА estimates, since the beginning of the war (February 24, 2022), about 35 thousand IT specialists have already moved to Transcarpathia and are operating in this region.

Earlier, the head of the Transcarpathian regional state administration Viktor Nikita announced the creation of a new national-level IT cluster in Transcarpathia.

Moreover, it was reported that the number of IT specialists in the western regions of Ukraine has increased at least three times since the beginning of the Russian military invasion. In particular, in Lviv, from 30 thousand people who were before the war, the number of technical specialists increased to about 100 thousand.
