Novaya Pochta will develop Sapper robots together with the State Emergency Service
Novaya Pochta, in cooperation with the state emergency service of Ukraine, has started developing Sapper robots: this will be the first Ukrainian Sapper robot for clearing water bodies, and another type for land, writes Ekonomicheskaya Pravda with reference to the company's press service.
The State Emergency Service defined the main requirements for such robots, and Novaya Pochta assumed responsibility for the technical direction, as well as for finding and attracting partners. Previously, it is said that robots will be able not only to find mines, but also to neutralize them.
We plan to develop at least 20 robots of each type.
The company, together with Ukrainian startups and its own R&D team, has already developed three models of robots at its facilities, says Alexey Taranenko, development director of Novaya Pochta. Now the expertise is used in a joint project with rescuers.
In Ukraine, according to Taranenko, today almost a third of the territory is mined — about 200 thousand square kilometers.
