Dell withdraws from Russia and fires all employees there

One of the largest companies for the production of computers and servers, Dell, is finally leaving the Russian market. At the same time, the corporation is laying off the entire staff of employees there, writes Forbes with reference to Russian media.

Dell plans to complete operations in Russia at the end of August. The company was going to develop a development center in St. Petersburg, but now it has switched to a development center in Poland.

In total, the Russian representative office employs about 50 people. Dell can pay up to eight salaries to employees at the time of dismissal, and someone will be left with health insurance for the family until the end of the year. Former employees of the company say that they were allowed to keep the equipment for themselves, but the corporation deletes all data from hard drives and corporate phones.

The publication writes that, according to the general director of the Russian company for the production of innovative solutions "Aerodisk" Vyacheslav Volodkovich, the exit of Dell will force some customers to switch to Russian solutions, "taking on all the risks associated with the lack of necessary production volumes." Someone will look for a solution in parallel imports, that is, the "gray" market (in May, the Russian government allowed companies to import goods for the domestic market without the consent of their manufacturers).

In March, Dell stopped selling its products in Russia. The company accounted for about 6% of computer shipments to the aggressor country.
