Google is expanding access to Project Shield. This will help Ukrainian sites protect themselves from DDoS attacks
Google will help Ukrainian state sites protect themselves from DDoS attacks. The company has expanded access to The Project Shield system and encouraged our government websites and news organizations to register there.
So Google will be able to block DDoS attacks, "so that Ukrainian government websites, embassies around the world and other governments in the immediate vicinity of the conflict can stay online, defend themselves and continue to offer their important services."
Project Shield allows Google to absorb "bad" traffic during DDoS attacks and act as a shield for small websites, allowing them to continue working and protect themselves from attacks.
The company continues to observe attempts at DDoS attacks on many Ukrainian websites, including the Ministry of foreign affairs, the Ministry of internal affairs, as well as services like Liveuamap, which help people find information.
We will remind, recently hackers broke into the financial media Minfin.com.ua, which, apparently, was confused with the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine
