Wirex blocked access to the product for residents of Russia and supports team members in the Armed Forces of Ukraine

The British fintech company Wirex has blocked Russians from accessing its Wirex App product since February 25, 2022 due to the Russian military invasion of Ukraine. Thus, it supported active actions to exclude Russia from the global financial services market, the company said.

At the same time, they condemn military actions on the part of the Russian Federation and encroachments on the territorial integrity of Ukraine, considering the shelling of the civilian population as genocide of the Ukrainian people and a violation of fundamental human rights.

Wirex also called on the international community to join the support of Ukraine and make transfers in traditional money and cryptocurrency to the Support Ukraine now fund.

"Now the main goal of the company is to ensure the safety and health of more than 250 members of the team of the Ukrainian R&D center, so Wirex helps IT specialists and their families with a relocation to the western regions of Ukraine, as well as to Poland and Lithuania. The company pays for housing for team members who changed their location, paid the remuneration for February on time and will pay additional monetary compensation," the release says.

Wirex has also set up a hub in Poland where it accepts vairexers and helps them find housing. This opportunity is available for women, children, and older relatives of teammates.

In addition, during wartime, the company actively supports defenders and defenders who have joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and territorial defense, while maintaining their position in the team and financial support.
