Figma freezes corporate accounts of Russian customers and blocks new subscriptions

Vector online interface development and prototyping service Figma has announced the freezing of corporate accounts of Russian customers, while personal accounts will continue to work. The possibility of issuing new subscriptions is also blocked, according to the company's website.

They stressed that Putin's "war with Ukraine" is an attack on democratic values — the values underlying the Figma concept, which is to make design accessible to everyone.

"We are freezing and will continue to freeze the accounts of Figma organizations, in accordance with us and EU sanctions against Russia. We are also stopping new attempts to sell (subscriptions) in Russia," the statement said.
How the company helps Ukraine

The internal Figmates community makes donations to organizations that support Ukrainian refugees and humanitarian aid. At the same time, the company compares these donations as part of its own donation comparison program.

Current Ukrainian customers who will ask for help in the coming months have also been granted permanent access to Figma's paid features.

"We see very clearly the pain that the Ukrainian Figma community is experiencing. ... We pray for the safety of our community and an early end to this aggression," the company concluded.

As you know, Figma is a vector online interface development and prototyping service with the ability to organize collaboration, developed by the company of the same name. It works in two formats: in the browser and as a client application on the user's desktop. Saves online versions of files that the user has worked with. The service is free for individual users and paid for professional teams.

Earlier, Sketch, a vector graphics interface editor for Apple's macOS, announced the suspension of all its sales in Russia due to its war against Ukraine.
