JetBrains stops sales and R&D activities in Russia and Belarus

JetBrains has suspended sales and R&D activities in Russia and Belarus indefinitely. It specializes in creating integrated development environments, and one of the company's most well — known products is IntelliJ IDEA.

"JetBrains was founded in Prague, Czech Republic, 22 years ago. Over the years, we have expanded our offices in other countries, creating research centers in St. Petersburg, Boston, Munich, Amsterdam and other cities.

The decision to stop operations in Russia was the most difficult JetBrains has ever made. It affects us as a company and, more importantly, our people. However, we cannot ignore what is happening. This is contrary to the values that this company has always defended," wrote Maxim Shafirov, CEO of JetBrains.

JetBrains condemned Russia's aggression and expressed its support for Ukraine on February 24.

The company added that many of its colleagues have already moved from Russia and JetBrains will support them, as well as all other employees.
