Parliament allows foreign IT specialists to conduct business remotely in Ukraine
The Verkhovna Rada adopted in the second reading draft law No. 5270 on the specifics of taxation of business activities of electronic residents. The draft law provides for obtaining e-residency for foreigners.
"The bill will allow foreigners and stateless persons who have acquired the status of an e-resident and registered themselves as an individual entrepreneur to carry out business activities and pay taxes in Ukraine without leaving the country of residence (stay)," said Daniil Hetmantsev, chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on finance, tax and customs policy.
In particular, electronic residents of Ukraine will be able to:
register as a group 3 sole proprietor via a mobile app without a physical presence in the country;open a bank account for business activities online;automatically pay a single tax in the amount of 5% of the amount of income.To obtain the status of an e-resident, a foreigner must submit an application on the e-residence portal and pass verification in accordance with the current legislation in the SBU and the Ministry of internal affairs. Identification and verification of a person at a consular office is mandatory for obtaining the status.
After that, the foreigner receives an inn, the status of an electronic resident and an electronic signature. Granting the status and access to administrative services is provided through the portal "Diya" by using the e-resident "Diya.Signatures".
