EVO group of companies conducts a major reorganization: cuts 40% of the team and cuts salaries

EVO group of companies has to significantly reorganize its business due to Russia's military actions against Ukraine. In particular, now we are talking about reducing about 40% of the team, said co-owner of the group Nikolay Palienko.

"We have started reorganizing our business to meet the realities that we see now and that we believe will continue in the future. Unfortunately, despite the gradual restoration of ecommerce in Ukraine, we understand that we will not return to pre-war levels for a long time. The war caught us at a time when we were investing as much as possible in R&D and the development of our projects, many of which were startups. We soberly understand that some of them will not be needed in the war and post — war period, and those that remain will have significantly smaller volumes," he said.
What is the situation with the group's projects

The company told about the current limited activity of its projects, namely::

the marketplace for Crafta author's products is on pause, and all sellers will be invited to a special section of the Shafa marketplace; project Rozetka.Travel -on pause;C2C of the IZI marketplace (the company hopes) — on pause;the direction closes on time.POS in the "Vchasno" ecosystem, all customers will be offered a temporarily simpler web sales register with a software RPO. Customers of another SmartTouch POS project will be offered alternative products;in the fintech infrastructure, EVO is curtailing all new directions and focusing exclusively on providing payments on the group's marketplaces and Rozetka.all other projects will allegedly continue to work.
«Zakupki.Prom without any special changes for our customers. Prom, Bigl, Shafa and Kabanchik marketplaces are gradually restoring their volumes and the situation is getting better every day, "the company stated.

Now EVO sees the number of orders at the level of 25-45% of the pre-war state.

About staff reduction

The group of companies also announced the dismissal of almost half of its staff — about 450 people.

"In the new reality, we were forced to start the process of dismissing almost 40% of our team — this is almost 450 people, for whom we simply do not have tasks and work right now. This is very painful, but we do not see any other option, we are for honesty and openness, and therefore keeping people in a state of uncertainty on vacation and without work is not our option," Palienko stressed.

At the same time, he added that the company conducts cuts in compliance with the following conditions::

payment of the compensation that they can afford so that the rest of the business can exist in the future. These are two" military salaries " for March (in March, all employees agreed to a joint salary restriction so that there was time to figure out how the situation would develop);leaving equipment for employees to work if they needed it;creating a closed group for ex-employees and helping them find employment in companies that work in the foreign market and have vacancies. Now the company is negotiating and collecting proposals; helping colleagues get out of difficult places and situations in which they found themselves during the war;support for those colleagues who serve in the armed forces of Ukraine / Teroboron, with further assistance with employment;material support with grants for those employees who are involved in important volunteer projects.

In addition, EVO promised that from April 2022, the salaries of employees who have been cut now will gradually be returned to the previous level.

Earlier, the Ukrainian delivery service Rocket stopped its operations in the country. The company's management stated its inability to pay salaries and recommended that employees look for a new job.
