Grammarly and Revolut are among the top 100 most influential companies in the world according to TIME

Ukrainian Grammarly, as well as fintech startup Revolut, co-founded by Ukrainian Vlad Yatsenko, were included in the current list of 100 companies that are changing the world. This top 100 has traditionally been published by the American magazine TIME.

Thus, in the 2022 version of the list, Grammarly was placed in the category "innovators".

"More than 30 million people use Grammarly every day to improve their written communications. Artificial intelligence-based tools not only help with spelling and grammar, but also improve writing quality, consistency, clarity, and efficiency. The software easily integrates with internet browsers, Microsoft Office, and more recently desktop computers, allowing users to communicate confidently wherever they write," the company's description on the magazine's website says.

The startup is known to offer money transfers, prepaid cards, and currency swaps.

At the same time, the publication stated that now the company suffers from high staff turnover amid accusations of a "thug" corporate culture, and also has a negative financial balance.

How the most influential companies of 2022 were selected

Every year, TIME magazine selects 100 companies and CEOs who make an extraordinary impact around the world and shape the future. To collect it, the publication identifies nominations in various fields, including healthcare, entertainment, technology, and more.

It is known that a global network of editors and correspondents, as well as industry experts, will be used to determine the nominees. The journal then evaluates each of them based on key factors, including relevance, impact, innovation, leadership, ambition, and success.

"The result is a diverse set of 100 companies that help map an important path forward," the list authors explained.

In total, 5 categories were identified this year: "Pioneers" (19 nominees), "Titans" (19), "leaders" (22), "innovators" (20) and "destructors" (20).
