EPAM is finally leaving the Russian market. Arkady Dobkin's letter to employees

EPAM, the largest IT company in Ukraine, is finally leaving Russia and suspending all operations in this country due to the war in Ukraine. This was announced by the company's CEO Arkady Dobkin in a letter to employees, which is available to DOU.

"Dear colleagues, the war in Ukraine started by the Russian government has brought a tragic and incredible reality to the people of Ukraine, the whole world and EPAM. This aggression is devastating, and we strongly condemn it," he wrote.
Details of exiting the Russian market

Dobkin recalled that on March 4, the company announced its decision to stop customer service in Russia.

"After carefully evaluating our performance over the past four weeks and consulting with our customers and partners around the world, we have decided to discontinue all EPAM operations in this country," the CEO of the IT company announced.

According to him, this will happen in stages over the next three months in close cooperation with employees and customers, as well as in full compliance with all laws.

It is expected that over the next few weeks, the outsourcer will further inform all its employees and clients about the transition time, process, and all mitigation measures it has to offer.

The company also promises to do everything possible to create opportunities for employees through an accelerated BCP plan (a plan to stabilize production processes in the company) and a significant expansion of mobility programs.

In addition, it was announced that in the afternoon, on April 8, the company will hold a general meeting for employees in Russia to provide additional information and answer questions.

By data dev.by EPAM has offices in Russia in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Saratov, Volgograd, Nizhny Novgorod, Izhevsk, Ryazan, Samara, Tver, Krasnodar, Tolyatti. In general, the Russian Federation for EPAM is the third location in terms of the number of employees. In 2020, more than 6,300 people worked in Russian offices, and in 2021 — almost 9,000.

About supporting Ukraine

It is known that since the beginning of the war, the IT company has allocated humanitarian aid to Ukrainian employees and their families in the amount of $100 million.

"In the next few days, we will announce the launch of the EPAM Ukraine Assistance Fund, whose mission is to help all Ukrainians in need. The fund will expand our previously announced commitment to providing assistance beyond EPAM and our current platforms," Dobkin announced.

He added that his goal is to help Ukraine and Ukrainians around the world. At the same time, the CEO said that no other company was affected by the situation as deeply and personally as they were.

"And today, more than ever, we support Ukraine and every government, business and people who condemn the actions taken against the people of Ukraine. ... Please stay safe, support each other and the people closest to you, and join us in the fight for a real and lasting world," Dobkin concluded.

Recall that in early March, the main office of EPAM said that the company stops providing services to customers in Russia, and also fully supports Ukraine and calls on the Russian Federation to immediately end the war. In addition, the company stressed that they do not cooperate with the Russian government and fully comply with all sanctions, and any plans for business development and hiring specialists have been stopped here.

Before that, the IT company transferred UAH 10 million to the Red Cross humanitarian organization to overcome the consequences of the humanitarian catastrophe. These funds will be used to provide medical care to the Ukrainian military and the population, as well as to provide assistance to internally displaced persons.
