SoftServe opens Development Center in Romania: plans to hire more than 800 specialists by 2025
SoftServe, one of the largest Ukrainian IT companies, is entering the Romanian market and plans to open an office in Bucharest. The outsourcer plans to hire more than 350 employees in Romania by the end of 2022, the company said.
They explained that the decision to increase the presence in another European country was made six months ago. But the military events in Ukraine and the relocation of part of the team to Romania became a catalyst for this process.
Details of opening a new office"We were looking forward to starting operations in Romania and being able to support our customers there. Romania is a country that is among the top 20 countries with the best programmers. Entering this talent market was a strategic decision, also due to the high demand for our services. After months of market research, bureaucratic procedures and team building, we can finally officially announce this," commented Vladimir Semenishin, president of EMEA, SoftServe.
As of today, SoftServe has 80 vacancies in Romania, including the most relevant areas — WebUI, DevOps, Ruby, Python, .NET, etc .
Vacancies are remote, but the arrangement of physical office space in the Romanian capital is in the process, opening is expected soon, the company assured.
"In total, the company plans to hire more than 350 employees in Romania by the end of 2022, as well as actively develop the local IT community through cooperation with universities and students. By 2025, SoftServe plans to have 800+ developers," the release says.
According to the outsourcer, with the beginning of the war, Romania became one of the relocation hubs where some of the company's employees moved. Most of them plan to return to Ukraine as soon as possible. At the same time, our Romanian colleagues provided significant organizational support to SoftServe employees during this difficult time.

By the end of 2022, the company promises to open another center in Latin America — in Chile. As for Europe, the company has been actively growing in Poland and Bulgaria since 2014. In these countries, SoftServe already has 8 offices and more than 1,700 employees.
"We continue external hiring in the western regions of Ukraine, although most of the company's vacancies, given the situation, are now open in foreign development centers. We expect that after the situation in the country stabilizes, the Ukrainian IT market will not only return to the previous growth dynamics, but also accelerate it," Semenyshyn concluded.
