Ukrainian Preply entered the top 100 largest private marketplaces in the world

The Ukrainian online educational platform Preply was included in the list of the largest private marketplaces in the world according to the well-known VC Foundation a16z. In particular, the company took the 59th place out of 100, its co-founder Dmitry Voloshin said on Facebook.

"Guess who was included in the list of the largest private marketplaces in the world at number 59. ... This is the first time we have entered this list," he boasted on the social network.

At the same time, Voloshin explained that A16z, one of the most well — known VC funds in the world, ranked private marketplaces by GMV rating and traffic.

"When the war started in 2014, we started focusing only on international markets, and this was the best decision in the company's history. I am proud of our team and extremely grateful to our customers," concluded the co — founder of the platform.

Recall that in March 2021, Preply attracted $35 million in Round B investments. These funds were intended to help solve priority tasks. The company planned to improve all training programs, double the staff in all regions, and improve the support system.
