Viktor Valeev, former director of the IT Association of Ukraine, was killed

On April 19, Viktor Valeev was killed while performing military service tasks. He was the director of the software Ukraine Association and previously headed the IT Association of Ukraine. In 2017, Valeev left this position and joined the army.

"Some of you know him from the military, some-as a person who was one of the builders of the modern IT community, developing the industry since 2012, creating the first professional conferences, supporting and changing education and introducing informatization in the country; some — as a teacher and lecturer.

It was thanks to him that the IT Ukraine Association and the SW Ukraine Association provided an important impetus to the development of the IT industry in our country.

Viktor has implemented many important projects, and he wanted and could have done even more. His intelligence would be very useful to the country in the future ... but he chose another cause: the defense of Ukraine and all of us.

According to preliminary information, the burial will take place next week on the alley of Heroes of the Berkovetsky cemetery, we will provide information later," said Sofia Belenkova from ELEKS.
