Ukraine will present its own pavilion for the second time at the Web Summit technology conference

This year, Ukraine will present its own pavilion for the second time at the Web Summit technology conference, which will be held from November 1 to 4 in Lisbon (Portugal).

The Ukrainian stand and a number of events are organized jointly by UNIT.City, Ukrainian startup Foundation, UFuture, Ukrainian Hub, Eva, iplace.Agency, WhiteRocks, Flyer One Ventures, Sigma Software, Ministry of digital transformation of Ukraine, Ministry of foreign affairs of Ukraine and Embassy of Ukraine in Portugal.

During the conference, they plan to talk about the technological achievements of Ukraine, the important role of the Ukrainian IT sector in supporting the economy and further recovery of the country, as well as the development of the military IT ecosystem.

"The Ukrainian IT sector is currently performing two important tasks for the Ukrainian economy. Provides regular foreign exchange earnings and pays taxes. We call it entrepreneurs warriors of the economic front. Global companies are ready to work with us even in times of war. This is a very large credit of trust in us and confirmation of our status in the international market," said Valeria Ionan, Deputy Minister of digital transformation of Ukraine for European integration, during a briefing on Wednesday, September 14.

According to her, Ukraine today needs to create conditions for startups with solutions for the military, and this will also be discussed at the Web Summit.

The Ukrainian startup Foundation, together with GIST, is organizing a delegation that will include 24 teams of Ukrainian startups.

"This year there will be the largest delegation, 24 teams selected by our partners. 8 of them will receive additional funding to cover their expenses. This is a good opportunity to announce us to the whole world. We are known all over the world as a brave nation that is able to fight for victory and fight to the end for the truth. But we want the whole world to know Ukraine as an innovative technological power that has many talented people, teams, and solutions," Pavel Kartashov, director of the Ukrainian startup Foundation, said during a briefing.

Web Summit is the largest technology conference in the world. It will be attended by more than 70 thousand visitors, 2000 startups and 900 speakers, including representatives of the world's largest companies: Apple, Google, Amazon, OpenSea, Microsoft, etc.
