Instagram Facebook and Facebook blocked access in occupied Donbas
Instagram Facebook and the so-called" DPR "and" LPR " in the occupied part of Donbass announced the blocking of access to the American social networks Facebook and Instagram. This is reported by Reuters.
"Access to the information resources of the American company Meta, which allows calls for violence against Russian-speaking users in its social networks, has already been blocked. Facebook Instagram on the territory of the" Republic" is blocked, "representatives of the so — called" authorities "of the"DPR" said in a statement.
A similar statement was later made by representatives of another self — proclaimed quasi-formation-the "LPR".
In turn, Meta Platforms Inc has not yet officially commented on these statements.
Facebook Instagrammed Facebook and Instagram in March 2022 after a Russian court found Meta guilty of "extremist activities."
Initially, Moscow blocked access to Facebook by restricting Russian media access to the platform. Subsequently, the Russian state communications regulator also blocked access to Instagram.
All this happened after Meta said it would allow users of social networks in Ukraine to publish messages such as "Death to the Russian invaders." The corporation explained that temporary changes in the intolerance policy concern only Ukraine.
