Lviv region plans to build an IT town. What is known about it

Lviv region intends to build an IT town for representatives of creative industries, IT specialists and startups. This was announced by the president of the International Technology Transfer Association (Itta) and the foundation for reconstruction and development of Ukraine Artem Goncharenko at a press conference in Interfax-Ukraine.

"Now we are implementing such a project, we have found a plot in the Lviv region. The legal process will begin in the near future. We plan to build the first campuses during the summer, where it will be possible to attract foreign partners and IT specialists, creative industries, young people to create a platform, discuss and create startups," he said.
Size and content of the town

According to Goncharenko, there are already agreements on the allocation of a land plot in the Lviv region with an area of 8 hectares. However, the exact location is not yet known. In general, the project provides for the construction of campuses with a height of no more than 5 floors. The total area of the spaces will be 10 thousand square meters.

According to the head of Itta, the campuses of the town will be able to accommodate up to 1000 participants. It also provides for the construction of places of temporary residence. In addition, the Rehabilitation Center as part of the Technopark will be designed for 500-600 places.

Previously, the creation of such towns was planned in the Kiev region, Kharkiv, Odessa and Lviv.

"We postponed the construction of such a center in Kharkiv to the post-war period. We will start communicating with local authorities about the need to take into account the construction of a town of creative industries in terms of restoring the city," Goncharenko said.

He added that there are plans to create not only a place for communication, but also, possibly, with flexible tax conditions, with the possibility of entering international markets, and so on.

As you know, the Ukrainian non-profit organization International Technology Transfer Association was founded in 2020. Its field of activity includes software development and, in general, the development of the IT sector in Ukraine.

Earlier it was reported that the Ukrainian IT company MacPaw became the largest investor in the Promprylad project.Renovation in Ivano-Frankivsk. During the war, the company invested 1 1 million in the development of the center, increasing the total amount of its investment in the project to.1.5 million.

It is assumed that the funds will be used for the revitalization of buildings a, B and B1, where a business support center, offices of innovative companies, a large coworking space, a reading Promotion Center, a food market and an art center will be created. These buildings are planned to be restored by the end of 2022. The project will be implemented in stages, taking into account priorities in the conditions of war.
