SoftServe, together with three universities, will teach students. We tell you about the format and directions

SoftServe launches updated programs for training students in IT specialties. Three Ukrainian universities have joined the project, and recruitment starts in July this year. DOU learned how this training differs from classical training, what benefits students will have when applying for employment, and when they can apply for admission.

The main thing is what happened? SoftServe, together with three Ukrainian universities, is launching updated IT training programs with elements of dual training. In other words, students will gain not only knowledge, but also work experience even before graduation. What specialties will be updated? "Computer science "at the Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and" Computer Science "at the Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute and" software engineering "at NTU"Dnipro Polytechnic". What will change for students? The updated educational programs optimized the order of studying subjects, updated and supplemented training courses. Students will work with SoftServe mentors, attend motivational lectures on working in it, and have in-depth technical courses to choose their own technology stack. From the third year, they will work in the company on real projects. Completed work tasks will be counted by universities according to the academic rating scale. Who developed the updated apps? It was a collaboration between universities and SoftServe. Together, they worked on building the program architecture, filling disciplines, mentoring students in the context of writing theses, and so on.

"The development or updating of the program is quite a long and voluminous process, which, depending on the intensity, lasts from a month to six months. After all, you need to take into account the opinions and experience of all parties: teachers, experts of the company and industry, standards of the educational industry. For example, it took about a year for "artificial intelligence systems" at Lviv Polytechnic, "the company told DOU.

Will the training be available online or offline? Depending on the situation in a particular region, most likely, decisions will be made on the ground. Everyone is ready to interact in a hybrid format and online, SoftServe says. How do I get into training? Recruitment for educational programs will begin in accordance with the rules of the general entrance campaign from July 29. Details

Dual education is not something new for Ukraine. SoftServe "entered" three universities five years ago. Lviv Polytechnic University has updated programs "artificial intelligence systems" and "Applied Mathematics", LNU named after Franko — "computer science" at the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and "Computer Science" at the Faculty of electronics, and it step University — the program "Computer Science".

Graduates of the updated programs do not have employment privileges. However, usually in 1.5-2 years of study, students grow to the level of intermid or Signor.

"This is the value that the dual format of training provides: you can build a career in sync with the learning process, without losing the academic context. On the contrary, you can use it for the benefit of your professional development," SoftServe explained to DOU.
