Consultations from specialists of World companies: Ukraine launched the platform "mentors in the rear"

On June 21, The "Mentors in the rear" platform was launched-a platform for sharing experience and knowledge, where everyone can get mentoring support from experienced IT specialists, founders and managers of well-known companies such as Google, Facebook, Amazon, Vimeo and others.

DOU asked the founder of the initiative, Artur Fedorenko, about the available directions, the cost of Sessions and the prospects of the project.

The main thing is what happened? On June 21, The Mentors in the rear platform was launched. Its idea is to help specialists who want to develop quickly gain the necessary experience and knowledge. It is based on sessions with mentors, which can be scheduled for any time that is convenient for both parties. In addition, the customer of such a session determines how many consultations they need. The funds received during the session are transferred to the support funds of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. What areas of mentoring support are available? Currently, the platform has six areas: "HR/Recruitment", "Marketing/PR/Advertising", "Management", "IT development", "design/graphics", "startups". Over time, the founders promise to expand their areas and even add mentors from the field of agronomy, construction and medicine. Who are the mentors? More than a hundred mentors cooperate with the platform. Among them, for example, co-founder and CTO of Preply Dmitry Voloshin, founder of DOU and Djinni.co Max Ishchenko, Amazon frontend Engineer Anton Nemtsev and others. Ukraine is not the only region where the site operates. There are already experts from the United States, Great Britain, Singapore and some EU countries. How much does one session cost? Mentors themselves determine the cost of the session: it can be $10, or even й 500. However, there are also free sessions. You can view all available offers on the project's website. During the day, 125 users registered on the platform and paid for 21 sessions.

"The average cost of a session is in the range of 5 50-100 per hour. Each session has a detailed description of what the mentor can help with, for whom it can be useful and what skills can be improved during the meeting with him," explains Artur Fedorenko.

The mentor adjusts the workload personally, and users choose the time from the available slots.

Where will the collected funds go? When purchasing a session with a mentor, the user chooses which fund they want to transfer funds to. Now the site works with the funds of Valery Zaluzhny, Sergey Pritula, "KOLO" and "come back alive". In addition, a person can choose another fund that is not from this list. Details

Artur Fedorenko has been working on the idea and implementation of "mentors in the rear" since the beginning of 2022. Prior to that, he worked in recruiting for nine years, and devoted the whole of 2021 to the field of Education, launching 100 courses. The project " mentors in the rear "is one of the directions from" work in the rear "(a platform where you can find work, volunteer requests or offer your own help), as well as" manufacturers in the rear " (a hub of proven Ukrainian manufacturers of military equipment).

You can also join the platform as a mentor. The main condition is to pass verification and selection by administrators. There are six criteria that a candidate must meet: an active pro — Ukrainian civic position; preliminary assistance to Ukraine, the armed forces of Ukraine; a desire to share experience with others, make a contribution to the development of the professional community; existing publications, speeches and other work so that the user can make sure of the expertise; commercial experience-continuous freelancing is not suitable; more than five years of experience in the profession.

In the future, the platform will cover not only the B2C segment, but also B2B.

"We have already agreed in advance with companies that will add us to the basket of benefits for their employees, as well as as an alternative to training," Artur Fedorenko explained.
