The government is launching a new grant program for training IT specialists, and also promises grant support to startups, the press service of the Ministry of Economy reports. UAH 1.8 billion will be allocated for training new specialists, and from UAH 400 million for the development of startups.

Financial support can be provided to people who have lost their jobs, are on idle, unpaid leave, IDPs and people who want to get a new profession in the field of it. What specialty can I get? Now it is known that scholarships "will be issued for training and obtaining the skills of a junior developer, Data Analyst and graphic designer." How much money can I get? The grant recipient receives an electronic certificate for professional training, which guarantees payment for training services. The certificate must be used within 10 business days from the date of issue, i.e. conclude a contract with the educational institution (they will be chosen by the Ministry of digital transformation). Currently, the government calls the grant support project experimental. Funds can be received by both developers of ready-made technological products and specialists who have a project idea. How much money can a startup get? The amount depends on the stage of project implementation: from 750 thousand to 3.5 million UAH of non-refundable grant from the Innovation Development Fund or from 3.5 to 8 million UAH of repayable financial support from the National Investment Fund of Ukraine. What are the conditions? Depending on the stage of development of the startup and its type, recipients of funds must create at least 3-10 jobs, develop a technology that will be a competitive advantage of the project and will focus on the foreign market, and Return 50% of the grant amount in the form of taxes and fees within two years.
